LAAND!

The funny thing about his tracing, though, is that I’ve now tried standing in one of his Phoenix: Endsong poses to redraw myself, and it was impossible to stand in. Here’s the link to mine: http://becausegoodheroesdeservekidneys.tumblr.com/post/17606653449/turns-out-that-pose-is-hella-difficult-to-stand. You have to seriously twist your body to do that, whereas he has Jean standing straight on and curved into an S shape. It can’t be a trace therefore.

BUT, he does then trace exactly the same pose and use it for Storm later in the same comic, so even if it’s not traced from reality, he does trace his own work. Silly, silly Greg.

Look what I found!

Hi. I’m the same Malena who sent you the image from the spanish blog. Look what I found a few days later: a magnificent swipe of the same ridiculously long torso. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee245/bartfargo/GregLandGuess/torsohmy.jpg

As far as I know, no one has posted the… ehem… similarities between these two pics.

Holy mother of hilarity, that torso.

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh! On this submission: http://fuck-no-greg-land.tumblr.com/post/18226497092/greg-land-and-con-sketches did you notice that he is doing that thing where the arm goes behind the back for no apparent reason (she’s shy, you guys!!!) so they won’t have to draw the hand? I have seen countless young artists doing that, but you’d think everyone grows out of that stage really quickly! #so professional you don’t even know

I decided to draw my interpretation of the picture.

Apparently thats what Greg Land calls a woman.

The irony here is that the billboard is supposed to provide a glaring juxtaposition between the Photoshopped, Perfume-Selling Sex Bomb and the Sultry-Yet-Professional-Assassin…
And ends up completely missing the point.

Greg Land and Con sketches

I always wondered if Greg Land actually attended Cons and did Con sketches.  If he does does he sit there with magazines to reference from?  I’ve found some of these sketches he’s done on Comic Art Fans:

Holy sexism, Batman! Pouty faces and Hip:Shoulder fails again!

However, these faces are slightly different to each other which is a real step forwards.

I’m so confused about this. Everything from her…one boob? To her lack of hips, once more.
It’s a true pity, because the details here are lovely.

Changed the theme, added a retro-active hitcounter and an “X amount of Y on line.” Thing.

I feel like a real blog.

I’m trawling through the Sisterhood arc on Uncanny at the moment, if anyone has any requests, don’t hesitate to respond to this post.

Yet another good article!

I like that Mr. Brothers doesn’t make these critiques personal, despite the fact that there will undoubtedly be a number of misguided comment-makers who will both take and make this personal. Again.

Gawd...no...

Help.
