Of course, Greg.
Of course.
All it takes to turn a Caucasian Red-Head into an African-American woman is a palette-swap.
There are no variations is bone-structure, how dare Biology have the gall to attempt to prove you wrong.
I am reblogging this because it pisses me off that Greg Land has such a blatant disregard for racial differences in bone structure. While I get that some artists are generally afraid of being offensive when trying to draw other races (fear of coming off as stereotyping or making them look like racial parodies) all it takes is practice and study and you can do it. I’ve been practicing drawing Storm and Jubilee a lot to try and work on drawing women of African descent and women of Chinese descent. I feel confident in how Ororo is coming out, but I still struggle with Jubilee. But I put a lot of work in trying. Because we aren’t all the same. We’re all wonderfully different, and I think it’s terrible that comics seek to whiteout character’s features. It saddens me when someone who has read comics all their life says “Wait, Jubilee is Chinese? I thought she was white.”
So Greg Land, screw you for setting comic art back and ignoring that people differ all for the sake of your fucking deadlines.
Back here for the rational rant.
